New owner: '03 Accord Coupe EX-L V6
I recently purchased my sister a 2003 Accord EX-L V6 automatic. This car is awesome and perfect for her.
It has all options available for the MY and she is excited to have it when I drive it to her next week.
I bought it private party and feel I got a great deal. I paid 10k and it has 77k miles on it. It looks great!
Now...I dropped it off at Honda dealer for inspection before the long drive and had them replace timing belt whilst there. They also found the following issues and recommend replacement expeditiously:
Brake Position Sensor (correct TCS light from continuous on/off issue)
Compliance Bushing torn
Upper left ball joint
PS flush
Replace Right Engine mount
Replace transmission mount
Replace A/C condenser line and recharge
I was a bit surprised by all the work it required but will have them caught up and done over time.
I've never worked on a Honda but do some wrenching on my two late model BMW's.
Any good source for DIY's on the above repairs?
Best,
David

Welcome and Thanks for joining.
You can get a good service manual for the car (automanualsource ~$27) and decide if you want to do these yourself. Also there is a ton of stuff in the Gen Tech section that will help you.

I have the same car! I got mine through a private sale also, and it too needed more than I initially thought. I paid 4850, mine had 158,000 mi on it, and I think about 4 or 5k was put back into it. Sensors, brakes, tires, and I had a new compressor put in also (air conditioner would seize belts in my engine if I didn't fix) my car is good now, and I think it was worth all the repairs. good luck and i'm glad she loves it Maybe try another mechanic, sometimes dealerships really just want your $.

Welcome to the forum.
You can make a separate post in the General Tech section and some of us can give you more info. on some of the items listed. That way, you can have more info. if you decide to change/fix somethings yourself or let someone else handle it.
