I just picked up my 2010 Accord 2.4L this weekend! I bought the car with 76K km's on it, that is about 48K miles.
I am super excited! I already drove it 700 miles on my way home. It needs new tires. Currently it has 225/50/R17's on it, could I replace them with 225/45/R17 instead since they are much cheaper?
Thanks!

As you may know, the center number (in this case is 50) indicates the height ratio to the width, so in answer to your question: Yes, there should be no issue in mounting 45's on your car
The 50 indicates that this tire size's sidewall height (from rim to tread) is 50% of its section width. The measurement is the tire's section height, and also referred to as the tire's series, profile or aspect ratio. The higher the number, the taller the sidewall; the lower the number, the lower the sidewall.

Good call; going with the 225/45 R17s would have generated a small error in your speedometer and odometer (indicating higher speed and more distance than actual).
