Hey everyone, just bought a 2013 accord with cvt. After watching several vids on YouTube, I noticed none had the L gear selection like mine....are they different transmissions, and if so how much more responsive is it than sport mode?

Welcome to the forum, SlvrHnda
I also have a 9th generation Accord with CVT. I'm not sure what you mean by the L Gear, my car does not have an L selection. The Sport (S) option on the transmission holds each gear up until 7K rpm unless you shift sooner by using the paddles
I personally never use the Sport option on the transmission with the exception of when I may be driving on back-country, winding mountain roads... and yes, it is very responsive.
As you may know, the paddle shifts can be used at anytime regardless of whether the car is in D or S
