Hello Everybody! My name is George and I own a 1989 Accord LX. I've had alot of fun keeping this car maintained and it only has 100k original miles on it! There's still so much I want to do to it (like a good paint job) I drove it through highschool (first car) and am still driving it almost everyday to work and soon to college. Look forward to getting help and info from the site! Peace!

I'm new to HAF and owner of a 1991 LX auto 4dr with 138k miles. First time I ever drove a Honda last month and love it. The check engine light just came on and I have no idea where to start and what to do!

Any chance someone could point out the life expectancy of my Honda Accord 91 Ex?
Picture this; Always taken care of, parked in garage, brown F22A4 with hubcaps with a few dings and scratches here and there. All electric, A/C compressor still functions, remote-starter... even the antenna motor still work... Driven by a senior.

After an in-depth inspection for twists or rust in of the chassis and all seems O.K... should i invest? How long do you think this will last?

As wheelbroker Ang said it is a hard question to answer. You didn't even include mileage in your statement. Also Price would make it easier to say if its worth buying.

But 91-97 Accords are right up there if not tied with Volvo 240s in the reliability department if you ask me.

I'm sorry. It has 213000 KMS. It's being given to me by my 95 year old grandfather. Mostly Montreal to Virginia Beach miles.

Again, hard to know for sure. If the price is "right" and in your budget, I'd go for it.

Only real question would be, when was the timing belt last changed?
