Thumbs up Newbie and full of questions

Hi everyone,

Really glad I found the site looks like there's a lot of good information here!

My first question, I picked up a 2015 Honda EX with 4000 miles over the weekend and trying to figure out all the various features, lights and buttons.

That's said, can somebody please tell me what that little tiny red LED light is for in the sunroof control section basically in between the map lights. Just want to make sure everything's normal because this light is on whenever exterior lights are on. I cannot find anything pertaining to this light in the owners manual .

Thanks in advance and again really glad to join the group.

First of all, welcome to the forum

The light you're speaking of is the indicator for telephone service. Once you've joined a Bluetooth cell phone to your car's system, the light should turn blue. The microphone for your in-car calls is located (small slits) at that light.

The light in my 2015 and in my 2016 have always been blue, but that may because I had my phone paired at the dealership... consequentially, I've never seen it colored red

Pairing your smartphone/Bluetooth enabled phone is a fairly simple procedure and is described in the manual

Incorrect...

Ambient/courtesy lighting, which is on when the parking lights or headlights are on. Coupes have red lighting, sedans have blue lighting.

Neither of my cars have ambient/courtesy lighting, but I still have (sedans) the blue light. And, was told by the sales' person that the light was part of the voice recognition system. I'm going into the dealership on Thursday (day after tomorrow) I'll ask again

Just returned from the dealership where I inquired as to the small light in question above: the blue light (sedan) in the overhead console serves no purpose other than as a night-time locator for the moon-roof switch and map lights

As I previously stated, ambient/courtesy lighting, which is on when the parking lights or headlights are on. Coupes have red lighting, sedans have blue lighting.

Honda added it to certain model Accords during certain years, starting on the 2008 Accords. It provides some ambient lighting (very slightly) around the center console area. If you do a search on the internet, you will find other info. regarding the same thing.

The ambient lighting I am referring to, is not the same thing as the add-on Honda accessory ambient lighting kit for the under-dash area.

Okay, thank you for clarifying
