Eh, whatever people want to do. Maybe Detroit is a Honda-lover in disguise? Or maybe, he owns one. You know how the story goes, 'I have this friend...'

Not crackin' here, just having fun...

StevePhy

P.S. Yeah, the 'Import' look can get pretty ridiculous, but hey, if people want to run around with their flappin' body kits thinking they can beat a monstrous 'git'er done' sled, then let them.

steve, no i dont own a honda, and yes i have friends with them........the crack at the body kits flapping is a joke with most of the general public.....i think if you asked almost anyone about that that isnt into the body kits....they would laugh at the ones that are not done right (braces, etc...)......and above all that, im a gear head. im a ford factory certified mechanic that also builds hot rods for a hobby. my last one was a blown 454, in a 51 chevy pickup with full four wheel independant suspention out of a ford expedition that was then modified into kind of an "independant ladder bar" set up......it ran 10.896 in the quarter and i messed up and broke traction between my 1-2 shift so i was slower than i should have been. I love fast cars, and my girlfriend has a modded 99 volvo s-80 t6......twin turbo from the factory inline 6.....208 liters that was 268HP and 280FT/LBS from the factory that now is WELL over that....i love that car and im not opposed to speed with any car.....import or domestic......although given my choice im more prone to like OHV and displacement in my projects. i just like fast cars....and i wanted to see what kind of things these imports were supposed to be like....cause i keep seeing these guys with thier "my great big, loud, obnoxious chrome muffler and tip gives me 260HP (overexadurating) type cars that cant hold a stick to a ride that really goes fast............Marc

hondas are great speedy cars. the cars your talking about. those are ricers.....and they are not allowed in here.. those cars are ****ty *** and they are even slower than they were stock. now mbo1985's car just got a fresh turbocharging and he prolly dropping high 13's in the quarter, and thats no slouch for a 4 cylinder any way you look at it. now if you have a 10 or 11 second beast then thats not going to beat it, but it will give a majority of v8's out there a run for their money. yea big body kits that dont even match the car or gigantic spoilers, or farty sounding mufflers that point down....all that stuff is stupid.

what do we have to say for ourselves though.....an unrelenting reliability factor paired with great gas mileage to start with...then all our motors have forged cranks and rods etc.....a pent roof designed combustion chamber with 4 valves percylinder and a centrally located spark plug and a large quench area. all perfect for some serious boosting. the stock motors are usually designed to handle 3 times their stock horsepower. if the rods and pistons are changed and the deck is closed....then 5,6,7 hundred hp is attainable. just like v8s though a radical cam always helps out.

Ditto here - apology - knowledge is power. I was looking at your profile and saw 'Ford Tech', and thought 'I bet this guy could teach us a thing or two - at least!' What do you do? Build engines, body work? I'm not sure what a 'Tech' could be, I'm sure it could be many things.

The father of a friend was an American car freak. He had some serious cars that were classic American muscle. Two Grad Prix ('71 & '70), a Malibu, and few others. They were all sick. Something you could really be proud to own.

Sadly, he's having to get rid of one after the other...
