yeah i gotta 90 accord 2dr auto. Completely stock..even down to the steel rims and junk tires! i wanna start addin mods like crazy and get this thing tuned to the nuts! But i have heard that the stock 2.2L engine is not the ideal one to build upon...is this true? If it is then what would be a better (reasonably price efficient) option to start with?

Also is there anything that can be done with the auto shifter in that thing it sticks way up there? its one of those BS ones with the "sport" button on it

 

I have a 91 EX but i have 1 thought..5speed lol,Mines pretty quick for a stock 2.2 but its been replaced with a new motor with less the 15k miles also....

 

yeah i would love to swap it to a 5 sp....but i got other issues far ahead of that. The paint is BS. The clear coat is comin off everywhere. The thing starts and runs fine, but when its warm and i put it into gear the rpms drop to 300! in park its fine its just when i put it into gear. But what can you say to a car that only cost you $1000 and ran and drove. I gotta take the tail lenses off, dry those bad boys out and re-seal em. I got the water in the trunk thing happenin. Other than that though she runs like a top for havin 224k on her. I would like to rip that motor out one day and drop an H22 in there. People say that it bolts right in...well hey gimme a shout one of these days when you ever get down towards vancouver here...maybe we can hook up and you can point out all the other stuff that i am sure is wrong with this beast.

Well sounds like you got some work ahead of you..My 91 cost me $1500 and its got a newer motor,newer clutch has bout 15k or less on motor n clutch.Car has near 278k..Just replaced both front Axles..BTW us Washington Accord owners are planning a Sunny Day out Cruz sometime soon...Not sure where we plan to have it or when but on a Sunny weekend in the near future...
