Default Soon to be 1st Time Honda Owner...4 Banger or V6??

Hey all, I am in the market to get a 2008 or 2009 Coupe MT. The main purpose is to not have to drive my gas-guzzling Double Cab for my new commute to work. It will be mostly highway miles so I feel like going with the 4 Cylinder is clearly the better choice but wanted to hear from you all if the V6 6-Speed can still do decent on MPGs? Also, does the 5-speed 4 Cyl still have enough giddy-up?

Appreciate the input and look forward to using this forum to make my "new" car all that I want it to be

the k24a4 in the 4cylinder is by no means a bad motor, incredibly reliable and the k series is the best engine honda has made to date but it wont make the power the v6 does. I think they are rated for 160hp stock which in a massive car like the new accords are it isnt going to be quick.

The J series is a good motor as well though and is starting to prove its reliability and power making ability.

Either one is a good choice but the v6 is definitely the choice for power.

I have a 2004 with a V4 and it feels fast enough to me. Then again, I'm upgrading from a 1992 Camry that also had a V4, but less horsepower so anything feels like an upgrade. I don't know how much heavier the 2008/9 is compared to the 2004 so maybe the V4 isn't enough for it.

At the end of the day it is all about personal preference. Saving a few mpg might add up to a few hundred dollars over the life of the car, but that isn't a huge deal compared to the cost of the car.
