If you can't swap a tranny, you can't put a turbo in.

You shouldn't need a saw or drill to work on your car 95% of the time. Last time I sawed something was through my strut bolt... and drilled was my spoiler. Only use sockets, wrenches and a jack for my clutch job.

Most tuning/performance shops can do it, but some ma and po shops can too. Probably run you about $1k for the swap including tranny, maybe a bit more.

Why the hell would you use a buzzsaw and drills to put in the trans? And if you cant swap from auto to manual trans then don't even think about putting a turbo in yourself. Oh and my junkyard trans cost me $150.

I wouldn't say that a turbo install is HARDER than a tranny swap. Maybe more time consuming and you have to modify the interior and ECU setups in addition to the stuff under the hood. I think the hardest part of the turbo install is mounting the FMIC and pipes properly, but that's just more tedious, not hard.

tedious indeed... it took me 8 hrs just to cut the intercooler piping and put it in the right place. not to mention I made 0 mistakes on the cutting and measuring.
I turbo'ed my car for little under $3k... i did all the work...
