Well to set it straight, I've decided not to boost my Accord. However, my civic has a fighting chance. There were several reason for deciding not to boost it:

the car is too heavy (supposedly 3k)

It's automatic

The engine is single overhead, and I theorize that DOHC with boost will produce more power.

I do have VTEC, and trying to forcefully induct air into a [somewhat] complicated system in the first place....it'll just get too complicated. I like the VTEC as it is.

Overall: I just don't it's the right car for a turbo. The engine and drivetrain would require extreme modifications, and I think it would be much much wiser to build another car.

HOWEVER! You guys may or may not have seen my post about my civic....1977. I've been working on the exterior and getting it nice and clean, but you'll see some engine work soon.

iVTEC doesn't really "engage" like other types of VTEC systems ..... it continuously varies the intake camshaft position, making it difficult to tune with a turbo system.

Strangely, the system on my tC is almost identical to the iVTEC K24 motor. Since the engine was specifically tweaked from the factory to use the TRD supercharger, I think there might be a provision for boost to work with the VVTi system. There are a ton of turbo tC's out there. An example of how this system makes turbo modification more difficult is evident in the tuning devices. For Kevin's accord, a V-AFC NEO works fine .... my tC's computer will eventually correct the re-tuning to bring it back to the stock settings! I will be tuning with an AEM F/IC, for now. It has an onboard MAP sensor and varies fuel and ignition maps with intake pressure. Eventually, I'd like to swap out the F/IC and OEM ECU for an AEM EMS system. That, along with my upgraded head will give me the 7000 rpm redline that I want and also the EMS gives me 2-step ignition control for no-lift shifting and launch control.

thanxs for bringing me up when talking about turbos' Falk! But yes... the NEO works just fine... and if you're running less than 8psi then no major mods are needed.
