actually truth be told... even though your 99 has the 3.0 block which the 03-06 has, it is not the same application. Comptech has stated (at least to a reliable source) the 99-02 supercharger they make will NOT fit the 03-06 honda v6's. your 99 has much less HP stock, which i would attribute to the computer settings and more restrictive exhaust. And I have been looking for a supercharger from other companies to no avail. if you know of a def. fit for our gen. accord please let me know.

^ actually you can get the TL to fit into the 7th gens with minor modifications. C/T supercharger ftw! I wish I had one and a un-problematic tranny[sm=sigh.gif]

I was always under the impression it isnt a chip. For the Honda v6's i was told you have to have the computer taken out and reprogrammed. I could be wrong on this. anyone have a specific answer?
[sm=icon_ladiesman.gif]It is the same for the I4's too.
By the way, $300 is way too much. You can get the JET reprogramming package from suppliers such as JCWhitney or Summit for around $240. It comes with instructions on how to remove the ECU yourself. Then you send it to them & they reprogram it.
You will have to use premium gas though (or so the JET People say.) That is why I haven't been towilling to do this.

I've had the same problem . Comptech told me that for now there are no plans for a superchager for '03 and up V6s's. My local speed shop told me that there is hope for a turbo im the not too distant future. I don't know by whom, but as soon as I know I'll post and install.( Not in that order)

^ again the comptech supercharger for the 2004+ TL application works with minor modifications. BTW, is your car an auto or a manual? If your car is an auto, I would go with the supercharger route. The reason being is that the probability of your tranny being affect by the same problems that are nortorious as the 6th gens is pretty high. If you would like to risk the odds, then go right ahead, but replacing the tranny would cost a pretty penny. But if you do have a manual, then either way is an option.

Mine is an auto trans. What kind of minor mods are we dealing with. If it's not all that much trouble I would rather go the supercharger route.
I really don't need any tranny problems. Buthow would a turbo hurt the transmisson?
My car did get the service recall on the trans, they installed an improved 2nd gear lubricator.( if that's the problem you referring to).
Thanks, you've given me some hope.

even with the tranny lubricator, you're still looking at a risk of your tranny dying on you because of the turbo lag. Your tranny wont be able to hold up long when the extra power hits your tranny, hard. Whereas the supercharger gives you horsepower across the band. With the supercharger, you have to mods little things like relocating some stuff which shouldnt cost you more than about 200 or so. There's more info about this at v6p.net and use the search button and it will bring you up lots of info.

Great info, thanks. Now that we know that Comptech's SC can be made to fit the Accord, does anyone know if another brands set up for the '04 TL will fit ?
Almost 5 K for the SC alone will be pretty hard to sneek past the wife, much less the install.

yep with the s/c you're looking around 5,000 + other necessities. I think comptech is the only one, thus far, with the application for the accords/TLs.

I gave all the info to my local shop, andhe's looking into finding a piggyback for the ECU. He said he'll try and find me a better price on the SC.Maybe I'll have to sell some of my old Lionel trains for this project.
