Turbo FTW. Why take power to make power?
Thats exactly what I say when people say supercharger.

Um, I may be wrong, but isnt a Supercharger more reliable than going Turbo (i remember reading this somewhere)?
oh and for the Tranny deal, i would "think" boost is boost, so wouldnt the stress on Tranny be the same?[sm=smiley24.gif]

No. They put different stressed on the pistons and crank. I have a 10-page article in a Super Street at home comparing the pros and cons of turbo, supercharging, nitrous and NA. I should scan that article to my photobucket or find it online...

the turbo supercharger debate has been raging forever, i doubt we will solve it in this thread.

I am no baised one way or the other, i have seen some really nice turboed cars and some really nice supercharged cars.

So with that being said my vote goes to N/A.

I would say go turbo, but either way would work

however i also think automatic trannies are worthless to put any sort of power through.

Well, i disagree on the last part... is not as good, but it's still worth it... (looking foward to getting $$$ to make theMT swap, (H22 tranny)).

I guess the turbo or SC depend on the car... I'll agree w/ you on that one...

I found the super street article. Turbo is probably the least expensive option, all things said and done.

Turbo on an automatic car is just not as effective. Basically if you can press in a cluth and spool up the turbo of a launch, you lose. Supercharger is always ready to go. press the gas and boom power. Both have pros, cons. but i would go sc for this.

I'm gonna have to correct you on that bud. Boosted auto cars are more effective than a manual trans. 1st off if you have a boosted auto car you have rebuilt the trans for the power your engine in producing. Auto trans can shifter faster than any human can push a clutch and switch gears. Also when having a built auto trans you can "neutral bomb" into gear for a good launch. If you look at high fuel drag cars they are autos...not manual trans...simple fact autos shift faster than and human can shift a manual trans.

^^^ what he said lol. Im an N/A guy myself though. i prefer reliability of a well done build. strictly the muscle of the motor. i know boost can make way more power but im more interested in what i call "efficient power". only the power i need to get from A to B but can punch through if it needs it. focus svt is a perfect example. civic si. etc. i like my f22.
