Default turbo

so i was recently looking to do a h22 swap but now am its not so worth it since this wont be my final car, its just a toy and a learning experience. i have a 2001 accord i4 2.3, f23a1 mt.
so im thinking ill just go ahead and work on turbocharging it, replacing cams, and adding external oil cooling. i have two friends who can teach what i don't know already. but right now there out of town so 'im seeking some other advice for the time being. i've been told i shouldn't run more than 5 or 6 lbs of boost on my stock engine, and i'm sure i don't need to since i'm not really building a race car. but do you guys have any recommendations on size and type of turbo? and should i look for a kit or build it myself?

I would go with a Garret T3/T4 turbo for that car. It it big enough to give you the power you want, but it's not so big that you may cause damage, or since it's a smaller turbo, it costs less money than some of the others!

yea thats all i've been looking at and i'm liking it lol. but with the kits im worried the intercooler piping wont fit right and i dont have the resources to customize it and i dont really want to have a shop put it in. if ill have to cut the pipes ill be fine but if it needs to bent im not sure i can work it. any suggestions? thank you

also, do you think it would be alright to get a kit off ebay if its new and not too ghetto, and if the seller has good feed back?
