Default turbos??

ok, i hear a lot of ppl saying not to turbo a stock engine. So whats a stock engine? like i have a 99 accord coupe 2.3L and i want to swap out the engine but if i put in like an h22a engine, wouldnt that be a stock engine? so my main question is basically do i rebuild the engine to make it handle high psi for a turbo or is there an engine out there that handles well with a good turbo?

Stock H22 is terrible for turbo(the higher the compression ratio the worse).

By "build" they mean dish pistons, upgraded con rods etc etc etc.

ok so i keep my f23, but if i put a turbo on it it would only be able to hold at most 5-6psi, what would i have to do to get it up to like 12-13 psi?

There are a ton in Queens. My Accord was tuned by DRT in Queens. Kinda ghetto location, but an awesome shop. I used them because they are on the Apexi list of tuners for the V-AFC2 that I had.

A stock F23 is good for 6-8 psi. 6 psi should give you about 200whp. 12-13 psi will require new bearings, rods, and studs minimum.
