Default 1989 accord engine

I do not know if I put this in the correct place but I would like to know if there is a market there for my 89 accord dx 2.0l engine & 5spd trans that has 287k on it or should I just scrap it with the car that rotted away.

I'm assuming the DX is carbureted, which there isn't much of a market for. The carb (if you know that it's tuned well) might make you a bit. You could tear the engine apart and sell all of the parts individually, but it would probably take a long time to sell all of it. You could try putting the head, block, ancillaries and transmission on ebay separately and that might be a little faster.

Actually I think someone on here is looking for an engine for a 3rd gen. Theirs is the LXi (fuel injected) so the head wouldn't work.

Many with the carb, drop the OE and put a weber on it.

So, just me, I'd post it for sale - again please put it in our FS section - on a few places and see what happens.....PS, take a video/sound of it running before taking it out of the car so you can send that to anyone that might want to buy it.

Things are getting harder to find for these 3rd gens. So if you have the time and space you might come out ahead.

BTW, if it is a coupe or hatch - happen to be tan interior? I'd take the drivers seat belt.

2dr coupe w/brown interior.yes it is carburated. 2nd carb and it was starting to act up before I parked it. won't drop below 1100 rpm. as far as getting video of it running I have no way to do that. the problem I have is I just hate to scrap a good running motor minus the carb issues.

Dang....almost got me a new seat belt , mine works it just needs help retracting when I take it off.

You said the body is going/gone....but as I said many have pulled the OE carb and all of those dang vav line and put a weber on them.

Parting one out, well as I said it is going to take some time, effort and space to make any real money out of it.
