Unhappy The 94 (Fiona) is no more :(

As I was driving this weekend, I smelled burning oil, strong fuel smell, and burning clutch. :\ It wasn't overheating which was definitely a good thing! However, since then there has been a weird clicking sound whenever I shift, and the pedal is very spongy.

I've been having to put oil in the car every one hundred miles for the past month, and she just doesn't feel right when handling whatsoever. Most of the electrics have crapped the bed within the past week as well.

I've posted a few questions about what to do with rebuilds, because I'm really interested in doing one, however after thinking long and hard, I just don't have the time of day (or the space) to make it work with the current hours at my job.

All of that said, she has done me well and I've been sold with Accords. In fact, I'm actually going to be buying another Accord today!

On the bright side, here's the new baby! It's an '03 EX-L (Automatic VTEC). Bought it from a mom and pop dealership, so I plan on taking it to the Honda shop as well as an independent shop next week so they can go over it with a fine tooth comb while it's under warranty just to cover all my bases.

The only problem I noticed is cosmetic, all internals were fine after a one hour test drive. Just out of curiosity, are the 7th gens notorious for anything in particular?

Nice trade/upgrade....at the same time sorry to hear about the 5th gen

On the 7th gens - The only thing to keep in mind is that the 4 cyl have a chain that likes to have good/regular oil changes and always be sure it is full of oil. Other than that, just the random "this that and the other".

I had a 2003 & was happy. OTOH, I'm not the guy who waits 8000 miles before checking the oil dipstick. Long oil-change intervals DO NOT mean you don't have to check your oil.

Totally agree with Jim. I try to check oil, other fluids and tire pressure at least every two weeks....also a general visual inspection of other things, of any car in my driveway.
