2003 to 2007 Accord
#13
Well I found another one, a 2002 Accord LX (no sunroof) with 130,000 miles for $2000. Same color (Naples Gold, my favorite) Only problem is it is a rebuilt title- it was hit about 65000 miles ago (in 2007) and the airbag deployed which makes it salvage titled. However it was apparently rebuilt to factory spec and I have looked at it and honestly can't find a thing wrong. Since the state already switched it from salvage over to rebuilt title I can just go get it registered if I bought it. I have tended to shy away from salvage and rebuilt cars before but this one looks like it was rebuilt properly, and has obviously been driven another 65000 miles since and passed yearly inspection, so it might be the one. Opinions? Thx all

Don't know if it makes a difference to you, but my insurance Co. will not cover rebuilt/salvage cars.

I purchased a 03 I4 std trans coupe 2 years ago with 67k miles and don't regret it. I knock down 30-34mpg's every tank. I do have the peeling clear coat problem though. All I have done is change the o2 sensor, brakes and regular oil changes. I just passed 100K trouble free miles this week.

I am with Allstate, they will insure a REBUILT titled car no problem. They will not insure a SALVAGE titled car. You might double check with your insurance to make sure.

Manual transmission?
We had a 2003 4-cyl manual and it was good. You won't recognize the engine vs. your 92, but of course it's the same as your daughter's.
I think the front brakes are easier than your 92. They're "normal" instead of those hub-over-rotor things.
4-cyl has a timing chain, not a belt. For the V-6 you would want to know when the timing belt is due.
What I didn't like, just for your own consideration.
- Front edge of the hood curves down to the grille, not the prettiest car, and prone to stone chips.
- Something about the position of the console & gearshift lever didn't get along with my arm. The shifter is a real sweet smooth-working arrangement. Just wish it was positioned a little differently.
- Brakes were real touchy. Over-boosted or something. I hated that, my daughter loved it. She drove the car, so there...
