Default 6th gen i4 owners

Just out of curiosity...how many of you 6th gen i4 accord owners have had a failed auto transmisson and at what mileage? It is said to mostly be in the v6 models, but mine went out and am wondering if i'm just an isolated incident.

90kish mine went bye bye

Do the 7th gen's have these problems as well? I keep finding mixed responses.

This might sound stupid, but isn't it kind of common for a transmission to start seeing problems around 90-120k miles?
I mean, think of all you've done to it over the years.

I got a smooth operator on the second try, thankfully. Woot. Shoot I hope I didn't jinx it.

I'd expect a transmission to last longer than that. I know my parents had some volvos that they passed on to relatives that now have over 300,000 miles and are still on the same transmisison. I believe earlier generation accords will do 300,000 as long as it is property maintained. I had 115,000 on my last vehcile and the transmission was still going strong and it was a ford. I don't know about 7th generation accords. Maybe somebody else knows about the early model 7th gen accord transmissions.

Warped a cylinder head due to a bad lifter at 98k though....if that makes you feel any better.

LOL .... feel better, no because I don't wish problems on anyone, but I'm not surprised! If it makes you feel any better, my bro killed 2 engines in under 70k because he doesn't maintain cars ...... an '88 Shadow and a '99 Cattera. He got the Cattera in 2003 with 6000 miles on it!
