Default 85 toyota supra v6 5 speed

hey guys i just bought this car and while driving home i passed up a truck and all of a sudden (while pressing down the accelerator) the pedal dropped to the floor and i couldn't accelarate. .it got me home tho cuz it seemed like it was accelerating itself. .any idea what the problem is? thanks guys . .btw this car pulls hard

thats what im think. did you check the throttle body?

i had an almost sim. prob. with my 93 civic auto. when id get on the exp way id floor it and sometimes the pedal would stay down and keep accelarating , scarry. after two times of pressing the gas again would the pedal go back to normal. whats up with that

As you said it would not accelerate, I would say the cable has snapped and not stuck. As was mentioned above with one that stuck, it just keeps accelerating.
