I'm new to this forum and I just bought a2001 V6 Accord 4dr. My friend always claims that his car can beat mine. He has a 5spd NA 3000GT with 222hp and 205tq. I'm curious as to what the outcome will be. I feel my car has really strong high end power on the freeway but weak low end. Thanks alot.

 

Well you're pushing 195 tq and about 200hp but I believe his car is 3 758 lbs and yours is 3 075 lbs so he's got a higher weight to HP ratio, so in theory you should be able to beat him (not taking into account transmission differences). However, if he has a manual and you have an automatic if he can drive worth a darn he should beat you.

Well, he has a 5spd DOHC NA weighing at 3,200lb.

His mods are:
-intake
-downpipe
-testpipe
-underdrive pulley
-ACT clutch
-short shifter
-5zigen lightweight wheels

Can't remember everything but is moderately modded.

 

Are you sure a 1999 4dr V6 Accord is only 3,070lbs? I checked online and it's somewhere around 3,400lbs?

 

too bad it isnt the VR4, it would smoke you. the VR-4 trim runs mid 13s. 320hp and 315 ftlbs will do that.

 

so i assume that the non-vr4 will not smoke me?

 

i couldnt find 1/4 mile times to compare, but it should be close, but i cant say for sure. youre just gonna have to race him and find out.

As sir_nasty said, it all depends on how good of a driver he is since he has a manual trans. If he is a good driver, you should be worried.
