Bad Customer Service Rant....
Alright so I've had it and this is the best place that I can think of at this point to rant about it.... Horrible customer service is becoming more and more common and I've had it... I'm not the type of person to complain a whole lot if you mess up my food order or make a mistake of some sort as long as you provide a reasonable solution... I generally speaking just take what I'm given and accept that... Not anymore! The days of fixing things promptly and properly seem to have all but fallen by the wayside. I'll admit that even my own place of employment (including myself) has made some mistakes. But we corrected them. Why can't people just follow that general idea? Return a phone call within an hour, answer your e-mail within 24 hours (unless it's a weekend or something), just let me know what's going on and I'm good.... but don't promise me something and know that you can't provide it... Here's what sparked this latest rant..
So I was happy I found a good price on a digital camera yesterday, I even made a post about it because I felt that it was a great deal for people. I asked the rep repeatedly if it would be here for christmas and he assured me that it would. I even said if I need to pay more for shipping I will and again I was assured that the method they were using would get it here... Well shipping was only about $15.00 and that should have been my first clue that something was wrong but I figured if they had warehouses in Washington (which most places do) then that was an accurate number. Well my concern was large enough that I called today to get a tracking number, it turns out they are going to ship it ups GROUND from Tennesse(sp) great, pull up UPS and you'll find that standard shipping, ground, from there to montana is 5 business days, so forget christmas, I'd be lucky to have it by new years... I'm tired of taking that kind of response so I called back and politely (side note: there is no reason to yell and scream people do know that you are upset even if you don't sound like you are) explained the situation and asked "How do we fix this?" and "Sorry sir there is nothing we can do" is not a reasonable response in this situation... So again I said nope, not gonna work, how are we going to fix this? I simply want what I asked for and was promised, all I want you to do is meet the expectations YOU set for me... as it currently stands they are apparently preping the shipment so they are going to try and see what can be done and I should hear back in a few hours....
Does this sound unreasonable? I'm tired of not recieving what was promised... Anyone else feel like customer service in general is going down the drain?

i have found that most of the time when I do ups ground, I get my package earlier than expected by 1 day. I would call them and ask them why you were told x would be here before xmass and why you could not get faster shipping BTW, cutoff for ups to get something here by xmass is today (even for Next day air)

Hey there. Sorry to head about your troubles. I hope you get it by Christmas time! I don't think all customer serivce is going downhill, I just get truely annoyed when I get transferred to a person in India that I cannot understand? If I ever were to start a company, I would keep it in the USA, no outsourcing for me. But yeah, you should be entitled to what they say and a phone call within the period specified. I would call the company and keep going up the chain of command. Good luck.
