damage from getting rear ended Saturday
Are they going to pay your hospital bill? You know you can get a settlement out of it... I'm not talking big money, but you can get something.
P.S. I AM an insurance adjuster. P.M. Me with any questions you may have about how to deal with the adjuster. Or you can post on here if you feel comfortable doing that. I'll be open and honest about how insurance adjusters typically think. Just ask.

Don't sign anything (even endorse a check) that says "full and final payment of any and all claims" or anything like that.
Even the most minor car wreck where liability is clear, I would offer a minumum of $500 up front if I got the inclination that the person was not seriously injured and wanted a little bit of cash.
The general rule of thumb is: for a settlement, you should get 2x the amount of your medical bills if you are not represented by an attorney. Therefore you use 1/2 to pay the bills and the other 1/2 goes into your pocket (that is for "pain and suffering.")
If you have an attorney the general rule of thumb is 3x the medicals. Therefore 1/3 goes to the attorney, 1/3 pays the bills, and 1/3 goes into your pocket. Either way you get the same amount of money so it's dumb to get an attorney in my opinion if liability is not disputed (obviously it's not in your case.)
Any idea how much your hospital bill is?

ok thank you for that tip on what not to sign
yes i have already gotten the papers for both me and my mom (she was my passenger) stating how much we owed for our first visit. we got checked again this past weekend but didn't have the tests we had the last time. for some reason with less tests for me, mine was more then hers was. mine was $2,411.80 and hers was $1,236.80. i don't understand that, maybe because I'm younger?!? maybe they mixed up who got what tests?!? i don't know, atleast i don't have to pay for it.

I was going to suggest you get ahold of Jonathan and ...wolla...here he is ..Thank Jon :_
the $428 was just for the bumper but my mom lost a night of work, i was fixing the car till 2am that Sunday with progressively worsening pain in my neck laying under the car trying to get the bottom of the radiator unhooked and then the new one hooked back up again and because we were so exhausted decided to get some sleep before heading to the hospital Sunday which we were there till 4am that time. if i was like most females and didn't know anything about cars i would have seize up my engine by letting it over heat because of the hole in the radiator.
lol Thanks Wheel, i guess he's psychic

Wait a minute, I just realized you are in Florida and it is a PIP (Personal Injury Protection) state. That changes everything. Go ahead and scratch everything I told you about settlements in my above post.
I don't handle Florida auto claims, but from what I have read, you will have to claim your hospital charges on your own car insurance (it's the law.) I'm pretty sure any settlement the other carrier offers would be optinal to them...
You could contact the adjuster and ask him/her: "What about my injury?" Make them aware you and your mother went to the hospital and see what they say.
