Default RE: Does your car attract the wrong type of attention?

I haven't done anything in particular with my car yet (though looking at this forum I have a few ideas). This is my first old car that I'm hoping to work on just to learn more about cars and how they work (I'd like to be able to do the basic stuff by myself, if I can do more later, that's great for me, whee). Maybe being a girl will take that racing attention off of me, if not, people are going to learn pretty quick that I'm not into racing, but I do want a car that runs well (and preferably a bit cleaner than now). My order pretty much goes 1) Runs Clean 2) Runs Particularly Well and 3) Looks and Sounds nice (I mean internally with the stereo, not loud outside).

Last goal is to start with learning the basics (air filter change, oil change, Anti-Freeze, etc., etc) and maybe delve a little into learning how to boost the engine power. But that's sort of the "not necessary but would be nice" category. I'm pretty new to the whole car thing, so... Yeah :-)
