Drive through California from Washington
In approximately 8 hours, I will be driving from Tacoma, WA through California to the border with Mexico. That's about 2500 miles round trip. I want to set a fuel efficiency record for a CD5 LX with three passengers and some cargo. The car has over 200k on the odometer, so this will be an interesting experience.

this was the only gas I could find on this part of the 101 heading south, I thought that I was low (at 583 miles on the odometer) but the tank only filled with 15.25 gallons, $4.09/gal, 38.2MPG for this tank.

I can't find my card with the picture of it, but I filled up the second time at a Love's. Instead this is a picture of Al. She's prettier than a gas station anyway.
539 miles, $3.69/gal, 13.99 gallons, 38.5MPG.
I'll add more pictures once I find my other memory card.
I'm sure that was a really scenic drive.
We just moved from Florida to Orange County, CA and have been really enjoying all the new sights.
Did you stop and see Big Sur? I've seen some amazing pics of that area.
We plan on driving up to see San Francisco for the first time rather than flying.
I hope to see some more pics.
