When I bought the car, it had a 'Salvage Rebuilt' on it. I did not know about this. Its been almost 3 years since I bought. The vehicle is almost flawless with no issues.

How can I get the title changed for sale purposes? Who is going to buy my car with 'Rebuilt Salvage'?

 

You have to take your proof of purchase and your insurance and drivers license and go to your closests State Police Inspection station or Garage Barracks.
They can inspect your car for you and give you the papers to get your title that you need...I used to handle lost title and salvaged vehicles, so thats how I found out how to do it..

Different states have different rules. You might find out that a salvage title is FOREVER. But like Angelo says go to the DMV or whatever place you go for license plates & titles.

 

Oh ok. So I can change it to Clean Title from Salvage?

 

ya i had a car that i fixed up and i was able to get a clean title but it will show up on your car record that you had a salvage title before if you try to sell it.

 

I would just do like I said and Call your DMV in your state...

 

ya you can search the internet all you want for answers but the dmv are the final authority so I would give them a call and see what's up.

 

How much will I lose on a resale with Rebuilt Salvage title?

 

Preferably, you will lose a lot. I don't think there are many people out there looking for salvage cars.

But hey, good luck trying to clear up your salvage status.

 

If you paid more than any salvage rate, then you can expect not to lose too much on your deal.
