How long does it take to install outer tie rods?
#2
you should have put this in "general help" u would hav gotten an answer faster.
Not very long if u know what ur doing. Outer tie rods are easy.
1. Jack up car and place on jack stand
2. Remove wheel
3. Remove cotter pin and loosen nut a few turns.
4. Hit top of tie rod stud or knuckle with hammer to free the stud from the knuckle hole.
5. Mark on inner tie rod where out tie rod screws up to (so u can get it close so u can drive safetly to get an alignment after)
6. Use wrenches or vice grips to hold on to out tie rod and loosen the nut on the inner tie rod
7. Spin off tie rod
8. Install in reverse order
9 dont forget cotter pin when done tightening nut on stud & lube up tie rod (if it has a lube fitting)
10. Put wheel on, lower car & go get and alignment.
