The Old Official OFF-TOPIC Thread Is Done
I had a modded xbox with XBMC in my suburban. Was the closest thing to a carputer, it really worked out great. It just sucked having to use a control or the DVD remote. I was always waiting for them to release a touch screen script, which they said they were interested in, in 2004....
360 manufacturing process most defianlty FTL, but it's design and theory FTW. Writing for a cell processor is new and extremely difficult. It was not a good choice for a game console, where in the game industry you have to pump out games as fast and good as possible so what happens? Developers spend too much time making the game work, than concentrating on the design. Microsoft is a software company, their software development kit (SDK) is so easy to use you can download it and make your own 360 games. Sony is a hardware company, so they threw the best hardware at it. You can have the best hardware in the world, but if you don't have the software to use and optimize it it's meaningless. Optimization is so important on a video game console. Like halo 2 for example, the original xbox has 64mb of ram, and 700mhz processor, but was able to produce a game on par with computer graphics of the time. That's what software can do when working with a set hardware configuration, and great software tools. Sorry for the rant I'm.... well you know.
Hahah, when ARENT you?
I like the PS3 and all, but I never liked any games for it... and not enough for me to switch over to the dark side...
Although if I had money to toss away, Id get a PS3 for the HD and Bluray drive... the 360 doesnt look THAT amazing on a 50" full HD plasma... but its pretty good.

If I was going to buy a blu ray I would defianlty get a PS3. If I want to see a movie in HD I just download it, and watch it off my HD tv. I don't really watch movies though, so when I do I usualy get it in HD.
i will agree with ps3 has limited to no games, to me the only reason i got one was the only difference i could see is blu ray. thats the only reason i got one.
Speaking of circuit city, think i might go there to pick up season 1 of burn notice on the cheap. The percent off will gain as time goes by, I think they dont plan to completely close down until march.
