The Old Official OFF-TOPIC Thread Is Done
Ah, that's a shame. I thought it was a real kit where you could buy your own FM radio... you just gonna buy another receiver and crystal and use it with you boat radio?
I figured boats were easy and you just pop in the engine and radio and go, never knew you have to build the hull and ****.
I really need to get a new ball bearing diff for my truck... it sat for so long the grease dried up and bonded the grease/plastic diff/***** bearing together. 16 new ***** are like $40.
Seriously, my truck is on the same level as a fully built track car, I didn't skimp on anything. I have like 3 sets of tires for different surfaces haha. My (dirty) pride and joy.

Yeah I'm running Futaba FASST, so the stock radio isn't an issue. Just have to drop $150 on another RX. Even my boat "kit" took a lot of work(took me almost a month to finish), what makes it hard is the precision and you only have one shot. Everything must be mounted PERFECTLY, a properly set up boat is more important than the motor. Drilling the stringers for the engine mounts was a serious b**ch. Thank god for 90 degree drills.
$150 for a damn receiver? I think mine cost about $40 each.. Hitec digital 3 ch FM... which is okay, because I rip antennas off and get the Rx wet. I've never gotten an Rx to work very well soldering on a new, correct length and wire antenna...
Lol I guess you don't know what FASST is, it's futaba 2.4ghz radio system. Sh*t is crazy expensive but worth it on a $1300 boat, bit of overkill on a nitro anything though. What I really want is that 1/4 scale gasser, I hate nitro. I'm going to see if someone is down to go halfs on one.
EDIT: I actually haven't installed it in my boat yet as I'm waiting for the external antenna, I don't trust the small internal antenna. I've been using a regular futaba 3ch digi radio. May use that on the car later or sell it I dunno.
