Default Paint Job 91 Accord

Hello everyone,

I will soon receive a Honda Accord 91 EX w/ 213000 highway KMS. It's brown with hubcaps... Not my thing. How much would it cost for a pretty average paint job?... And or should I give up on that and simply buff it, slap on some mags? What do you think?

Thank you.

Before you spend $ on paint, Take a full day to clean and detail the car. I used Meguirers cleaner wax with my cheapo buffer from Harbor Freight and there was a vast improvement. Be sure to wash it really well first, maybe with dish soap. Then cleaner wax and a coat or 2 of good car wax.

a decent paint job usually costs in the $3,000 range from my experiences. That doesn't include door jams or any of that either if you are planning a color change. I'm not sure what a macco type places charges but maybe that is something to consider because a $3,000 paint job on a $1,000 car doesn't seem worth it.

I just had my 89 Burgundy Accord re-painted in Mexico. 4500 pesos which is $350 US and this included repairing a rust hole in a rear quarter panel and the filling of a few minor parking lot dings as well as some deep gouges in the back bumper. He took it away for ten days and brought it back completed. It is not 100% perfect, there is a small flaw on the trunk lid where a leaf landed while it was still tacky and left a raised line but it is certainly good for the money! He came back two or three weeks later to give it a wax job, noticed the hood did not pass his inspection and repainted it.

It was re-painted the same colour so no door jams had to be done.
