Default Poorman - 2017 Snow

Yes, many of you laugh at this but we just don't get much snow - and where I lived before here got even less - so when we do get it, well it is a big deal .........tonight (Sunday) the low is like ~9 but the high for Friday is ~70, gotta love it.

Hey, buddy... have fun playing in the snow. Speaking as a resident of Ohio, allow me to say that we would be happy to send snow your way anytime.

Don't read me wrong, I like snow... when it's on the ground, in trees, etc.. it's just that after a lifetime of winter snow and having drove over-the-road often in blizzards... I've had all the snow that I care to have.

However, I do predict that someday, someone will invent a way to chemically infuse (or some other method) pavement so that snow does not stick to streets, driveways and sidewalks

In the meantime, I'm reminded of what Mark Twain once said, "..everyone complains about the weather, but nobody does anything about it"

Enjoy

My daughter's in Birmingham Alabama, and says the ice melts during the day but people are mystified by the fact that the wet roads can actually re-freeze the next night after the sun goes down. Wow.

Yea, it was a mess early this morning...high yesterday was ~25 but had bright sun, so it did some melting. Almost the same today with the temp, just not as much direct light. So tomorrow morning will be more the same. Black ice where the roads have been plowed/cleared, a sheet of ice where the haven't.

That is when I tell them at work, I'll get there as soon as I feel safe enough and will leave just before the sun goes down. When I left today I went one way to the major/plowed roads and took another way on the way home just to see which ice rink was better.

Oh and the worst thing, missed a chance to have lunch with "Rice", he and the family were coming to Raleigh for a hockey game but the roads were just too bad yesterday for me to get there

The weird thing is we diddn't get any snow until last night when it just dusted here. It has however been brutally cold. Like high's in the upper teens, and lows around zero.
We're supposed to 3 to 4 inches tonite/tuesday morning, only to watch it turn to rain in the afternoon. Oh well, it is winter, and we normally get cold and snow during the winter months.

When I went to Raleigh that Sunday I saw quite a few cars off the road from the day before that had just been left behind.

Also I ended up not getting there until about 3 o clock, turns out its hard to leave the house on time with a wife and two kids.

We got some ice down here in fayetteville, but nothing too crazy. Post shut down the gyms and PXs on saturday but that was about it.

We still have to figure out how to meet up for lunch or something before you get out of there...heck if you are not careful you'll be here helping me do the timing belt job on the 07 Pilot.....yes, I still haven't taken care of the leaking WP , I'm bad I know.

Oh I thought you were going to have someone do it for you. But I don't have a problem helping you.

I haven't decided....I was going to take it in, then changed my mind.....it has been ~ 2 months and so far I've only had to add 3/4 of a gallon.
