I don't know what the a4 is but my K24 just just vtec on the intake. I was under the impression VTEC was always only intake, or is that wrong too lol?

 

My 2003 is a K24A4. The variable timing sprocket is only on the intake cam but I'm not really sure about the VTEC cams on exhaust vs. intake. It might be on both?

My 95 B18C1 had VTEC on both camshafts.

Honda uses the term VTEC for the alternate cam lobe. They use the term VTC for the variable camshaft sprocket. They use the term i-VTEC as a kind of marketing catch-all for the whole package.

 

yeah the A4 is out of the Accord and Element and maybe CRV.

Yeah the a4 only has it on the intake. Most vtec motors have it on both..........if they are dohc that is

Do all pistons have such a short skirt, or is that because they are performance pistons? My 25cc piston skirt looks almost equal to the diameter.

 

no not all do, stock pistons are much bigger and hence way more, these weight nothing.

 

I thought maybe it needed that extra skirt to keep the piston from digging into the cylinder. My piston for my 25cc was lightened by cutting holes into the skirt. My motor can turn 15,000 RPM under load, so I guess the piston needs extra skirt for those high RPMs.
