My 2003 is a K24A4. The variable timing sprocket is only on the intake cam but I'm not really sure about the VTEC cams on exhaust vs. intake. It might be on both?
My 95 B18C1 had VTEC on both camshafts.
Honda uses the term VTEC for the alternate cam lobe. They use the term VTC for the variable camshaft sprocket. They use the term i-VTEC as a kind of marketing catch-all for the whole package.

I thought maybe it needed that extra skirt to keep the piston from digging into the cylinder. My piston for my 25cc was lightened by cutting holes into the skirt. My motor can turn 15,000 RPM under load, so I guess the piston needs extra skirt for those high RPMs.
