More expensive than a new car payment?

I'd rather make an expensive repair than have a car payment--especially if the body and frame is in good shape and the drivetrain is good. One expensive repair is better than a $500/mo car payment any day.

244,*** some odd miles. I bought it used last year for an economical work car, (got tired of 12mpg in my truck & paying $75 dollars every three days to fill up). Car was/is rust free, previous owner (a buddy who also runs a junk yard) replaced the engine right before I bought it with one that had 150,*** miles, and after a year of driving it, I just had to have the tranny replaced with a used one that had 60,*** miles on it.......So I should get plenty of miles out of this thing

What "gen/year" is it? Sounds like a nice "daily driver".

I have 34,000 trouble free miles in just over a year. Very happy with the Accord. My lifetime MPG's are about 36. On a nice fall day without A/C I see 40 MPG!

2012 EX-L Coupe just about to roll over to 27,000 miles. We've only owned it for a week, though, I imagine the miles will accumulate faster for us than the previous owner.
