I was kind of confused why you said she had a mechanic put them in. From talking with you on various threads I figured you knew how to do it yourself. Oh well, when her car dies on her you can say: "TOLD YOU SO!!"

if it's a 98-2000ish civic...
Well you can either spend $100.00 on a new coil WHEN it goes bad (not if), plus the $100.00 in towing, and the labor, let's say $50.00, so $250.00, not to mention miss whatever appointment you're heading to. or buy a new set of spark plugs.

I wish I had money laying around to hand out like that....

lol Vero ..... he gave proof ..... but you're right. I just know that last week when I put in a few of my silicone hoses, the PE switches say Denso on the side!

00: I'm a little nervous about the tranny. I don't plan to use the spray a whole lot (maybe 2-3 times a week for short spurts), but I want to go with a 75 wet spray. I've read that this is plenty doable for my car and I plan to add a tranny cooler before I use it. The Dr. Evil tranny is $4850 shipped and that's just too much considering that it's over 50% of the value of the car (stock). ..... but ya never know ..... if I eventually do put it in, the car will be around forever!!! at 87k it runs better than most 3 year old cars!!!

Some OEM Honda parts are made by Denzo. There is a plethera of OEM parts made by different manufacturers in our cars. Here's a prime example: http://www.6thgenaccord.com/forums/s...highlight=ford

I've had fewer problems with my 90's model 5.0 mustangs I've owned in the past that the '95 Accord V6 in my garage right now! Those 5.0's never break down. As far as other fords though, I cannot really elaborate. I know the tranny's in the Ford Taurus were total crap though. Ford won't even rebuild them because they know they are crap. Ford-certified shops won't even install a used tranny either. I wonder if Ford made the crapola auto tranny's in the 6th gen accords too?
