Default Trying to buy my first Accord, need tips

So, what do you think about these ones at face value:

####1998 HONDA ACCORD***LOADED***

2000 Honda Accord (First $4000 Takes It))

They are auto and I rather have manual, but oh well if the car is reliable. Should I buy Accords with mid mileage like this (at price)?

I hear that the 90-02 Auto Accords have tranny trouble. I definitely don't want that.

I found a 5spd, what do you think?

Highly recommend having a thorough inspection done by a reliable shop or auto inspection service. Expect to pay $200-$250. This seems expensive, but you will usually find defects that will allow price adjustments to more than cover this cost. You may find serious defects that cause you to pass on the car.

good luck

I personally would never buy a 98-02 automatic, its just not worth the risk to me. I'm sure there are people that have them and have never and will never have a problem with the transmission. But on the other hand there are just too many horror stories of people replacing the transmission 3 or more times.

I'd hold out for a manual, plus they are more fun anyways.
