The heater fan on my Volvo 240 is broke. When its really cold I turn it on and it just makes a loud noise. Any idea what it is or how to fix it? Does it sound like the blower motor?

 

It could be motor or trash in the blower wheel causing motor to jam. Only way is to remove and examine. Depending on effort req'd to access, you may want to replace the motor since the brushes do wear out and fail w/ use.
