Default Well I have decided to get a new car

Update on my car situation, decided to get a new car. Have way too much going on in my life to be working on the volvo all the time.

So I have about 6-7k to spend on a new car, these are some of the cars I have been looking into, open to other suggestions. I really want a SUV/truck, but not much I really like in this price range.
2006 Nissan Xterra
2004 Mazda3
2006 Nissan Pathfinder
2004 Volvo V70R
2008 Nissan Versa
2007 Honda Civic

I figure If I can't get a SUV/truck, probably just get some econobox, but through the Volvo in because.........well.........I like Volvos.

Talking ** Good For You Rice **

My son has a Versa and I've got to tell you that I'm quite impressed with his car. It get's great gas mileage, is very good at handling and has power, and I'm more than impressed with it's size interior and trunk size. 4 adults fit in very easy and with leg room to boot.

Here is your down payment Rice..hope it helps in whatever one you pick up..

My new car is the second picture. Should I decide to afford it..

Later Buddie.

Angelo

My kids both have Civics. They both had 2007 2-door Civics until one of them decided to occupy the same space as a pickup truck. Now that kid has a 2013 Civic. Nice cars, smaller than Accord, but actually about the same size as a 1992-ish Accord. Love the nice direct & smooth feel of the gearshift lever (kids are 3-pedal bigots like me).

I know a couple people who like their Mazda 3 cars. Both are auto-trans, and both are more like 2010-ish. And I haven't actually driven them.

Angelo,
Since we live so close, put me down on the list to borrow that new car of yours. Should you decide to afford it...

Will do James

I had a Mazda3 (with a manual transmission) for about 5 years and it was a wonderful ride; possibly the second best steering feel of any car I've ever driven (my 1979 Scirocco with non-Power Steering has set the benchmark so high I don't think it will ever be surpassed). Long story short, I highly recommend the Mazda3 as a cheap but very-very enjoyable ride.

I'm also in car shopping mode...

I'm thinking to let our daughter use the Accord as her daily driver (once she convinces me she's ready for that responsibility), I've been using my "new" 1999 T&C for my daily hack anyway. As for the "new" car, I'm looking for a car nearly as rare as hen's teeth, a 2004-2005 MazdaSpeed Miata (only 5,428 were produced for world-wide distribution) with low miles and in near perfect condition.

Well, sorry to hear about the volvo - guess that is my fault

I'm narrow minded, so I'm leaning towards the Civic - if you can find a 4 dr 5 speed (a stick makes almost any car fun to drive ) that is where I would go. As Jim stated the newer ones are about the size of the 4th/5th gen Accords. I only threw the 4 dr in there for getting the car/booster seat in and out. The 81 3 dr Accord had to go not too long after Wade was born as getting him and the car seat in and out was just too much of a PIA.

PM or e-mail me about the volvo.

Yeah the Hondas seem like great cars, just not sure it has enough room for me, between the family I also play hockey(goalie) which easily takes up the entire back of my wagon. Went and looked at a few cars today but nothing I wanted to buy.
