your tax rebate? Well, if we get it which seems likely. Also, do you all think it will work to stimulate the economy? Personally I plan on buying a few pairs of jeans (since my jeans are starting to look like swiss cheese) and then save/pay bills with balance. 150 billion in rebates but will save 500 billion in govt spending/tax receipts...hmm....

Good job guys. Help stimulate the economy! I believe it is now 600 for a single person and 1200 for a family? I heard it on the radio.

You had 0 income for last year? I think you still qualify for $300.00, people who make less than like $18,000 (I think... can't recall exact figure from the news) are supposed to qualify for $200-$300.

Also, I heard someone make an interesting point: No one ever improves their economical situation by spending money. You improve your situation by paying debt/bills. (this is from a personal standpoint not a nationwide one of course...)

As for what I'm going to do. I already did it (counting on base tax return to cover it...) I bought a new Samsung HP-T5054 50" 720p Plasma. It's supposed to be here tommorrow!

I think you are mistaken.... I've never had to claim my tax refund as taxable income the following year. If this money is issued as a tax refund they can't double dip us on it....

Why 720p? Why not 1080? I hope you got a warranty. My dads plasma just went boom. Luckily he got extended warranty and i'm thinking they'll just replace it.

So do you all think it will bring us out of the recession? In theory it should, but in reality? I don't know. Don't know about this Bernake guy either....

Most HD stuff isn't broadcast in 1080 anyway so it's just overkill... The biggest gains you get from a 720p to a 1080p (not 1080i....) is in HD-DVD's and such, not usually in satelite channels... The other big advantage to 1080p sets is that they have a better processor and can upconvert Standard Defenition channels better than a 720p can... and 1080i isn't better than 720p...
