Sorry, can't use more resources than I am now. I'm posting while I have AutoCAD frozen on my computer. Drawing issue today, but feel free to search using my signature.

^ It should be in a thread titled "1995 bouncing tach" or something of that nature.

Frozen AutoCAD FTL.... are you using 2009? Does your "A" drop down menu disappear from time to time? Do you lose all the symbols in the layer menu like I do? I've seriously though about switching back to 2008 because of it.... but 2009 is so sexy!

I hate any version since 2004. I have 2008. It never remembers my O-snap! settings or the system printer checkbox. My favorite was R14.

Haha... we still have the R14 disc around the dept. somewhere. That's weird about your Oh-SNAP! and printer though... I don't have issues like that...

I just have the snap settings I like checked and on all the time, then just hit F3 to turn them off when I need to.

Whatever layout you're in in the drawing is what chooses the printer when you plot a drawing. Silly. Use the page setup manager.

Not what I meant. In config, there is a checkbox to allow the system printers vs. the ones that were specially setup in cad. The one's I have available are from another office with paths redirected to printers here, but I only get PDF, printer and plotter when we have an 11x17 laser, a color 11x17 printer, 2 color 11x17 laser copier/printers, a B&W copy/printer, 2 color plotters and a laser plotter.

Page setup never works since the architects use the joint venture settings and the engineer of record company decided that they had to be pompous and use their own settings. It messes everything up and their cad help is non-existant ...... yeah, they P!$$ me off!!!!

We set up our drawings completely independent of the other contractors and architect. The only thing we match is paper size and scale, sometimes title block.

When I type 'plot' the default plotter is chosen from what we set up in the layout we're printing. It automatically loads the correct plot settings, if we want to plot on, say letter or 11x17, we just choose one of our copiers from the drop down and then paper size and plot a window or something... otherwise everything goes to our laser plotter with a roll of 18", 30" and 36" paper in it. We have an old school HP ink jet color plotter downstairs... we're looking to upgrade to a color laser plotter for the engineering dept. when we move into our abandoned warehouse and leave the B&W where it is. We just bought a new $20k scanner though... that's pretty cool.
