I think that in Ontario there is something going on, if the car doesn't pass emissions, it's cheaper to part it out rather than get it fixed. Especially if the buyer needs to pay that high Ontario and National sales tax on the purchase.
I don't know that for sure, but it seems like a lot of nice old Hondas are parted out on CL /Toronto.
