My mainshaft, where the reverse gear meshes with the gear machined into the shaft, is damaged. The reverse gear is tore up a bit too. Parts are unavailable. Anyone have these parts? Or an entire tranny? Someone told me the LXi manual 5sp (which is the car & trans I have) and the 5sp out of a Dx (carbed) model have different final drive ratios, the Dx being numerically lower. Thus, could I use a Dx 5sp if this is true to possibly get a bit better mileage? Thanks.
