Hey all,

New to the forum. I need some help with my 1992 honda accord. I don't know if i need new shocks/struts or not but whenever i turn the car while it's moving, i get a clicking noise. i only get this when i turn the wheel either way and the noise is only coming from the front. it also sounds like it could be coming from the strut bar. can anyone help me? the car is in the shop right now getting a new radiator and i want to get this problem addressed while it's there. thanks!

 

it sounds like a CV joint from the description... drive the car in a circle (tight circle) slowly in a parking lot, if you hear it doing a click click click deal then chances are it's a CV joint (the bar going from tranny to front tire, about $85.00 for parts per side) do it in one direction then the other, you can then visually inspect the rubber boots around the axles going from tranny to tire and see if the boots are broken/cracked, dry, dirty etc. If there is no rubber and the joint is completely exposed then it's probably shot... that's the quick easy way to test

 

so, cv joints and boots are what i basically need? the reason i ask is because i get my parts for wholesale price and i want to have the parts with my when i drop the car off so i don't charged up the "a$$" for the shops' parts. thanks.
