Ok to kick it off, id like to say i was very excited some super-premium pads on there. When they were installed, the guy at the brake shop told me to just drive easy for a few weeks instead of doing that whole 10 stops from 60-5, so i did 5 stops from 50-5, because i wanted to compromise. Anyway, the new pads feel a little spongier. And interestingly enough, they feel like a much "hotter" pad than the standard nissins. for example, if i apply the brakes for a quick second to warm up the pads, then aply the brakes, they work much better than if i just slam the pedal. Overall, however, a very strong pad, its just not very good when it is ttally cold. If i did something wrong, though, please tell me.

What kind of rotors?
Were the rotors new? Resurfaced?

 

oh sorry, the fronts were thick enough to resurface, but I replaced the backs with centric blanks. didn't want to break the bank, and from my research, drilled and slotted is pointless unless you are on a track, especially on the rear. I might go dimpled and slotted when i get the fronts replaced, but beyond that, high performance fluid, and a street-race pad (likely), i'm gonna call it quits for brake stuff

 

Yeah, I agree about the rotors. No racing, so I don't use slotted/dimpled/drilled stuff. Sometimes tempted to try CryoStop, but not sure what advantage (if any) they give.

Apparently it's normal for race pads to require warm-up before they work well. I've got Hawk HPS pads & they work real nice but don't require warmup.

 

maybe i'll give the hawks a try. I hear plenty of good things about them. and about the rotors, ive heard the only real advantage to them is in the rain..and I live in SoCal....so. yep
