car rises when turning wheel to left (stationary)
****WHEN TURNING WHEEL TO RIGHT**** I messed up the title.
I tried searching for this, but it's super vague and I've never seen anything like it so I wasn't sure how to go about it...
Car:
94 Accord EX Sedan
I replaced my passenger LBJ and Tie Rod End today and threw everything back together.. Made sure everything was tight and in place.. But some strange things happened afterwords.. The steering still feels quite loose (although it does steer lock to lock with no clunks or clangs).
But what's really got me perplexed is, when the car is stationary, and you turn the steering wheel to the right, I can see the front right quarter panel rise into the air approx 2"... Wanting to get a closer look, I had my wife sit in the car and steer the wheel back and forth.. looking into the wheel well, I could see the upper control arm moving up and down about 2 inches and the strut/spring was being compressed..
I looked and looked and could not identify anything that was wedged/jammed or making contact where it shouldnt...
I do expect that my alignment is out of whack since I did the tie rod end in my driveway, but I marked the placement of the bad one and counted the rotations when I took the old one off and used the same number of rotations putting the new one on, so I don't think that the alignment is far enough off to cause a problem like this..
Anyone have this problem or know what is causing it???
I'll try to post a video of it so you can see what i'm talking about.
Thanks in advance..
