depending on what part of the shock is squeeking sometimes you can get away with just spraying the bar etc with some wd-40, otherwise if you want to replace it all then whether to go with stock or aftermarket is all about what your goals/desires for the car are, it's going to be around the same price for a decent set of aftermarket stuff or 4 OEM.... if you just need to replace the one then it's cheaper (of course) to buy one OEM shock and just do that one side....

I'm wanting to lower my ride a couple of inches, do I need a set of springs+shocks+drop spindles? or just stock springs and new shocks? also, how much would they run me? I'm trying to stay in the $500-$600 range. Thanx

i'd get a whole new set up... it'll be worth it in the long run... there are so many coilover/shocks combos now that $600 should get you a nice set up...
