quick strut question for yall

I've got a 90 Honda Accord I'm doing some strut work and I noticed the replacement struts (monroe OEM) have a couple extra mounting tabs on them. I've asked several techs/shops if I've got the right parts and they assure me I do.....but I thought I'd ask you guys for your thoughts. If these are the right Struts, what are the extra tabs for? Is it just a mass production for several different suspention setups?
Those tabs are where the brake lines mount, since the left and right struts are interchangable, the struts have tabs for the lines to be properly mounted regardless of which side they are on. So even after install, some of the tabs will be unused. They will not interfere with operation of the suspension.
If you are going to be doing this job yourself, before you start the job, this thread may be of some use to you:

Cripe...sounds like a pain in the ***. I've never changed suspention on a Honda before...just GMs and Fords. Seems like they could simplify matters significantly if Honda would just use a macpherson strut assembly instead of that goofy yoke. I'm sure they've got their reasons...
Oh...and thankyou for that link. I have no doubt it'll come in handy

Replacing shocks and springs on 90-93 Accords
For the front:
1)Remove the wheel
2)Remove the brake hose from the shock assembly
3)Disconnect the sway bar from the lower control arm
4)Support the lower control arm with a jack and remove the damper fork pinch bolt
5)Remove the damper fork to lower control arm bolt and remove the fork
6)Remove the three upper mounting nuts (located inside engine bay)
For the rear:
1)Remove wheel
2)Remove the trunk side carpet
3)Remove the two upper shock mounting nuts (inside the trunk)
4)Remove the shock lower mounting bolt
5)Pull the rear knuckle down and remove the shock
Install is reverse of removal for both front and rear
