Default help on rear strut removal

i cannot remove my stock rear strut on my 96' accord. i followed the manual but when i try to pull it out either pushing the knuckle assembly down or whichever i think i can it would not come out. is there anything else i need to remove beside what the manual says??

So your manual says:
remove upper mounting nuts
remove lower mounting bolt
pull rear knuckle down
remove assembly

Is the strut just hanging there? I would check the top mounting nuts and make sure you got them all.
