Default Lowering spring? bad or good?

I have a 1990 honda accord. I don't want to do anything fancy with it performance wise. I just want to lower it. I love how lowering the car looks great! I want to get some lowering springs that lower it about 2" or 2.25". Would I need to get all new shocks, and if so what type of shocks do you guys/gals recomend? Also if you have any imput on what type of lowering springs please share.. thank you!

if youre going to drop your car, yes shocks would be essential if your just getting lowering springs..or if you can save up for a full coilover set..that would be better
