Is changing and or modifying the suspension on my 97 honda accord from a very low position right now to factory standard involve changing out the shocks and springs? Or for that matter the entire suspension system? I'm fairly mechanically enclined but have never dealt with suspension at all. Being that it's a 97 would i just need a whole new suspension "kit"? Which one would i need and how much do these "kits" generally run? How much would a mechanic charge to do a job like this? Any pointers or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

its straight forward just buy new stock shocks and springs for it and change them out and get it aligned. that should be all, however you may want to get bushings and such checked to make sure they arent worn or damaged. I would say buy either kyb gr2s, koni str, or tokico blues, then pair them with honda oem springs or some h&r oe sports. it will be back to normal height and give you a better ride. mechanic would probably charge your arm and leg for this lol. if youre into working on cars grab a friend or two and some online DIY's for the changing of the suspension stuff. its not too bad once you get the first one done.

Well it depends on what set up you already have.,..If you have coilovers you don’t have to change a thing just raise your coilovers up to the height you like. If you have lowering springs then you just need to get some stock springs you can use same struts unless they are bad. You can find springs for cheap...I sold a guy on this forum for all 4 springs for 60bucks.
Yes like clutch said you will need to new alignment after this is all done.

Cool, well I haven't ventured underneath the car a whole lot being that its so dam low to the ground to see exactly what I've got as far as springs and shocks go but it doesn't sound like there's too much involved from what you guys are saying. I think I'll go ahead and take a crack at it this weekend and see if i can't learn something new for once Thanks a lot guys for the advice! I'll be sure to check back in if i got anymore ?s

struts and springs.

But personally, if you are not mechanically inclined or have never done it I would stay away.

When I did my suspension, I had 3 guys who have done multiple suspension and they were not happy with my Accord. The fronts were fine, the the rear was beyond terrible. It took hours and hours because the bushing had corroded to the LCA, so we had to burn it out, cut the strut, hammer, and everything else. Luckily I bought new bolts and bushings beforehand. So...the one bolt in each side caused hours and hours of delay.
