Im new to this forum. Hope you all are well. I need advice. I have a 99 Honda Accord LX that needs some revamping. I have had the car since it was new and would like to make some improvements:

It needs new shocks and struts... I would like to lower it just a bit and put 17 inch wheels on it for a more sport type look, but dont want a low rider type deal. What shocks/struts do you recommend that are good, will get the job done, yet affordable? I dont race or anything like that. I save that for the ducati

And, it needs a new paint job. Is Maaco (the 1000 dollar service) a bad idea? Or should I use local/small body shop? I cant spend more than a 1000 on the paint, but would like a decent job done... Thanks, Brandie

 

KYB AGX would suit you well with some lowering springs. A one inch drop would be good.

I have heard that the $1000 paint job begins to peel after a few months. Paint is the most obvious cosmetic on your car. So be prepared to spend a bit on it.
