Upper Contro Arm

Default Upper Contro Arm

How important is the upper control arm? my mech asked me if my car shakes or rattles when i drive it, then he said at some point im gonna need a new right arm.

As long as it's not bent you won't need a new one. Over time, though, the bushings will wear out from the abuse and you'll need new ones pressed in or a new control arm assembly with bushings...

Did the mechanic tell you why it's rattling/shaking?

It's probably cheaper to buy the arm with the bushing than to pay for the labor to burn out the old one and press in the new.

It is not bent, As a M o F I passed the state inspection, but he did forcefully moved the tire left to right just a bit, but I'm asking cause i'm focusing on the tran right now and dont want to pay for something that can wait. do i need to buy the whole assem or just the arm?

The arm will come with bushings in it ..... my pic is of my rear sub-frame bushings getting torched.

^^^ I didn't find anything .... I took that pic with my cell phone. That's MY rear sub-frame from my poly bushing install.
